Tractor fire in Vietlübbe: Fire brigade prevents anything worse from happening!

Yesterday, June 21, 2025, the fire brigade was called into action in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district due to a fire that was caused by an event for old tractors. In Vietlübbe, where the charming tractor convoy with five historic vehicles was on the way home to Paarsch, an attentive citizen noticed flying sparks from the exhaust system of one of the tractors, which ignited dry grass on the side of the road. According to news.de, the fire started around 4:30 p.m.

After the citizen observed the situation and reacted quickly, he alerted the Lübz fire department and the Plau police. They were able to stop the tractor column in good time just before Paarsch and point out the impending danger. The fire brigade was on site with two vehicles and ten comrades to extinguish the flames and check the route of the historic tractors.

Operation details and damage balance

The fire was quickly extinguished. In the affected area along the L 17, an area approximately 10 meters long and 1.5 meters wide was affected, but no significant material damage was caused. This is reported by both presseportal.de and news.de. The fire department then checked the entire route to ensure that there were no other sources of danger.

This incident is a classic example of how quickly a fire can start due to flying sparks. Such situations need to be taken into account not only in road traffic, but also in private and business environments, such as when welding or soldering. According to the Brandschutz-Zentrale, fire-hazardous work is often one of the fire-causing activities and should always be carried out with caution and with trained personnel.

The Lübz fire department and the police reacted quickly in this case, and residents can be reassured that the danger was recognized in good time. A big thank you to all the emergency services who did their best to prevent anything worse from happening.
