Change in parking fees in Klink: Cashless and only during the day!

There is exciting news in the parking sector in Klink! After residents loudly expressed their dissatisfaction with the existing parking fee regulations, the municipality has now announced comprehensive changes. Mayor Thomas Beckmann presented the new regulations at a meeting, which are intended to lead to an urgently needed rethink. In future, parking fees in Klink will be paid cashless via an app, in response to the protests of citizens who often had to deal with unclear and impractical payment methods. It has already been announced that from January 1st, 2025, the municipality's own parking spaces will be subject to charges, at a rate of €1.20 per hour and €12.00 for a day ticket.

The changes in detail: Parking fees are only due from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., which gives residents more freedom. Particularly pleasing for occasional parkers is the information that the first half hour of parking as well as public holidays will be free. This is a step in the right direction that will certainly be met with approval by many.

New payment methods and regulations

Another improvement in parking management is the introduction of a second payment app, which is intended to offer the user more flexibility and convenience. Payment is now only possible via the “mobilet.de” app, meaning cash payments are a thing of the past. In order to ensure that payment options remain available even in exceptional situations, there will be a parking ticket machine at certain locations, such as the gatehouse in Klink, which allows exceptions in the event of technical disruptions.

The paid parking spaces are available at the following locations in Klink:

  • Klink – am Hafen
  • Klink – Kölpinsee
  • Klink – am Torhaus
  • Klink – Gemeindeweg
  • Klink – Müritzstraße
  • Klink – an der Kita
  • Klink – am Mühlenberg (west)
  • Klink – am Mühlenberg (süd)
  • Sembzin – am Schlangenberg
  • Eldenburg – Eldenburg Süd

Consideration of local residents

Residents who regularly need a parking space have the opportunity to apply for a resident parking permit - a measure that is currently being examined by the local council. This takes into account the special needs of the residents, so that they have less to worry about parking in front of their own door.

The regular checks by the public order office are intended to ensure that the new regulations are implemented efficiently and smoothly. The parking spaces will now be marked as chargeable so that road users are informed in good time.

Overall, it shows that the municipality of Klink has a good knack for meeting the needs of both residents and visitors. Who knows, maybe these new parking regulations will even end up being seen as a model for other communities in the region!
