Mirow celebrates: Rowing club Blau-Weiß is 100 years old!

On Saturday, July 20, 2025, the Rowing Club Blau-Weiß Mirow celebrated an impressive 100th anniversary. Association chairman Michael Kullack did not miss the opportunity to thank the numerous members, the city of Mirow and the supporters for their loyalty and commitment. In bright weather, the celebration was a complete success.

The guests were among the guests, such as Andreas Bluhm, President of the State Sports Association, and Thomas Müller, the designated district administrator. In his speech, Mayor Henry Tesch paid tribute to the voluntary commitment of the association and expressed his respect for their achievements to the members. Tesch also announced that the rowing club can continue to use the urban site and can expect additional support in the future.

A look at the history of the club

The Rowing Association Blau-Weiß Mirow e.V. has an eventful story. Founded with the political turn in the GDR, he is the successor to the MSRV registered in 1925. The name "Blau-Weiß" is not only a tribute to the club colors, but also derives from the club symbol, a blue cloverleaf on a white background. The association is located in Schillerstraße 43, with access to the city park 1.

Michael Kullack particularly attached great importance to the assessment of the founding fathers and the supporters who played an important role in the long history of the club. "Without them, we weren't here today," emphasized Kullack. The anniversary was celebrated with a great celebration that offered a tasty cake buffet, diverse grill offers and a well -stocked drink. The men's singing club 1848 Mirow, which provided the best atmosphere with vocal performances, provided musical entertainment. Two members of the association, Mischa Barthel and Frank Thederan, received the badge of honor of the MSE in silver for their special achievements in sport.

The local community is proud of its rowing club. In his speech, Andreas Bluhm emphasized the importance of the sports clubs for the community and congratulated the rowing club on his anniversary. "Here the sport and the community are blooming," says Bluhm.
