Neubrandenburg enchants: The magical fairytale week begins!

The third Neubrandenburg Fairy Tale Week started on Monday, November 10th, 2025, with happy singing and lots of anticipation. This event, which lasts until Friday, captivates fairytale fans young and old. Under the motto “The Magic 7”, the four-gate city, which is celebrating its 777th anniversary this year, wants to appeal particularly to families and children. The opening took place at 9.30 a.m. on the market square in front of the tourist information office, where a magical production of “The Wolf and the 7 Little Kids” immersed the guests in the world of fairy tales, like NDR reported.

A varied program offers something for every taste. From participatory theater and fairytale hikes to rickshaw rides to mystical places in the city, diversity is very important. The tours lead, for example, to the Mudder Schulten fountain and the Wallmännchenhaus, where stories and legends are told. New this year are offers that are not only aimed at children, but also involve the entire family, such as the flashlight tour in the Neubrandenburg Regional Museum, which will take place on Thursday at 5 p.m.

A versatile program for everyone

The program offers numerous attractions: Daily rickshaw rides are scheduled in front of the Fairy Tale House (Wiekhaus No. 18) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Tuesday, visitors can come and enjoy happy singing from 4 p.m., and on Wednesday there are craft activities for children. The Wiekhaus stories attract audiences of all ages on Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m.

The philosophical reflections for adults, which take place on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Wiekhaus No. 53, are also particularly interesting. The magical meaning of numbers in fairy tales will also be discussed on Wednesday. On Thursday from 7 p.m. the event “Siebenschön – Fairy Tale Time for Big People” takes place in the Literaturhaus.

A topic close to our hearts: early childhood education

The goal of Fairy Tale Week is to promote early childhood education. Children should not only hear stories, but also learn important values such as friendship and helpfulness through fairy tales. As the Socio-Cultural Education Center, which organizes the event, emphasizes, the little guests are at the center of the activities.

All events are free for the youngest, but registration is required at the respective venues. If you are coming with a group of more than 10 people, you should also register in advance so that everything goes smoothly. Further information is available on the website skbz-nb.de.

The fact that fairy tales are not just there to pass the time for children is also shown by the numerous screening offers in the “Latücht” cinema on Thursday. There are three enchanting fairy tale films on the program here: “Leon and the Magic Words”, “Once upon a time…” and “Sara and the Dragon”. And for everyone who likes something a little more interactive, there will be a fairy tale writing room on Tuesday in the youth art school (An der Hochstraße 13) from 10 a.m.

The Neubrandenburg Fairy Tale Week has something to offer for everyone and is likely to be a success this year too, because who can resist the magic of fairy tales?
