Sports bowlers of the lake plate conquer medals at championship in Husum!

In Husum there was a lot going on last weekend -the German championships in the bohle cone attracted the best sports bowlers from all over Germany. The host, the Husum sports club, also celebrated its 150th anniversary, while bowling in Husum looked back on his 100-year history. Numerous competitions were held on two weekends, from June 12th to June 15th and June 22, 2025, whereby the services of the athletes cannot be recognized high enough. The Nordkurier reports that the sports bowlers from the Mecklenburg Lake District were able to fight for a complete medal set this year.

The women's team of the SKV Seenplatte proudly took the silver medal home. In the individual competitions, athlete Lucy Lindner from the MSC managed to win the U23 decision with the impressive number of points of 894. Pauline Richter also secured the bronze medal in the same category with 887 points. Marvin Skriwanek from Blau-Weiß Stavenhagen showed a strong performance in the U23 qualification with 890 wood, but came to 869 points in the final. Magnus Irrgang, also from Blau-Weiß Stavenhagen, was able to get the silver medal with 895 points.

results and services in detail

The MSC women's team was particularly exciting, which landed only a wood (with a total of 3508 points) behind the championship title SG Holstein (3509 points). Claudia Sponholz and Pauline Richter (873), Luise Mai (863), Lucy Lindner (878) and Diana Rix (894) fought for victory in the team. Ilona Müsch from the Neubrandenburger KV narrowly missed the podium with 865 points.

The railways in Husum were a very special challenge for the participants because they led to unusual cone cases. The mixed pairs, such as Sponholz/Rix (862) and Rix/Skriwanek (880), could not reach the medal ranks, which shows how hard the competitions were this year. This is not only a success for the Mecklenburg Lake District, but overall underlines the high quality of bowling in Germany, as can be read on the website of the German Bohle Kegler Association.

further medals for the Berlin participants

But not only in the lake plate there was reason to be happy. The athletes from Berlin were also able to look forward to several medals. As KEGELL-LFV-Berlin reports, the Berlin delegation was able to look at a total of 13 podium places in various disciplines. Particularly noteworthy are the gold medal in mixed competition, achieved by Susanne Ziegler and Lucas Scheffler, as well as the impressive performance of Lucas Scheffler, who won the U23 classification among the male participants.

In summary, the results of the German Championships show that bowling in Germany is alive and successful. The athletes from the Lake District and Berlin have impressively demonstrated that they can achieve high positions with their skills. For many, it is to be hoped that they will continue to appear in the next Bundesliga championships.

The next big event in cone sports, the youth championships, took place in Kiel at the end of May and bring a breath of fresh air to the sport. The sports bowling remains exciting and promising for the coming years.
