Telekom strengthens network: 4 new antennas for the lake plate active!

Deutsche Telekom recently announced a strong expansion of its mobile phone infrastructure in the Mecklenburg Lake District. Four new antenna locations were put into operation and five existing locations were expanded. These measures aim to significantly improve the mobile internet supply in the region. As the Nordkurier , the supply of households with quick mobile communications is now increasing to a remarkable 99 percent.

The newly built mobile phone locations can be found in the cities of Mirow, Neubrandenburg, goods and Wesenberg. Especially in Neubrandenburg and goods, the network along the important railway lines, such as the connection between Berlin and Rostock, benefits. The need for spectrum in the region is currently increasing by around 30 percent annually, which underlines the need for such expansion measures.

short -term extensions

In the past two months, Telekom has also expanded three additional locations with 5G in Lindetal, Malchin and Zepkow. These measures not only increase mobile phone cover, but also improve the bandwidth and reception in buildings. The Zepkow location supplies the A19 motorway, while the Malchin location covers important railway lines in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In addition to the impressive budget coverage of around 99 percent, additional 119 new locations are planned by 2025, while at 129 radio masts extensions with LTE or 5G in the pipeline are planned, such as We are müritzer supplemented.

In order to achieve these ambitious expansion goals, Telekom is dependent on cooperation with municipalities and property owners in order to rent the required areas. The German radio tower is responsible for the construction of the mobile phone locations and ensures that Telekom has 36,000 active mobile phone locations in Germany, with around 1,500 new locations being added annually.

5G development in Germany

Progress in telecommunications is significantly promoted by the introduction of the 5G network. As the Federal Network Agency has been available in Germany since autumn 2019 and has developed rapidly since then. The current status shows that 92 percent of the area of the federal area is already supplied by at least one network operator with 5G. In particular, the switch to 5G standalone offers advantages such as higher data rates and lower latency times, which increasingly facilitates the use of data intensive applications.

The continuous growth of the mobile phone networks and the improvement of the infrastructure are crucial to meet the growing requirements of the users. The annual increase in bandwidth needs by around 30 percent asks companies and operators to constantly work on their network coverage. In this way, mobile phone supply in the region is becoming increasingly stronger and remains competitive in a world that is more dependent on fast communication services.
