Torgelow/Ueckermünde surprisingly gives up association league team!

Torgelow, Deutschland - The game association Torgelow/Ueckermünde will no longer compete in the association league in the coming season. Due to financial bottlenecks, the association was forced to sign off its first men's team from the country's highest division. A representative of the board said that the budget was no longer sufficient to cope with the challenges of this league. The decision was surprising for the players and the coaching team and raises big questions: Who will stay with the club in the coming season?

Especially last season, the team showed a great run, but only became vice-national champion. Immediately before the end of the season, you also had to cope with a point deduction because the club was deducted three points from the state football association. This deduction occurred due to the lack of referees and led to SV Siedenbollentin passed on the last match day. President Dietrich Lehmann, who already announced his resignation in October, even consider legal action against the association.

coaching team remains on board

as from [nordkurier.de] (https://www.nordkurier.de/ueckermuende/ decision-mit-diesem-trainer-beht-verbandligist-torelow- in-die-season-202526-3500536), the coaching team around Thorsten Berg is still retained. Bergin has recently extended and received a full trust from the SpVgg chairman Dietrich Lehmann. The team was informed about the contract extension, and assistant coach Robert Jager and team manager Uwe Wieland also remain in office. Rainer Justin is new as a goalkeeper coach.

The merger of the Torgelower FC Greif and the FSV unit 1949 Ueckermünde for the game association Torgelow-Ueckermünde, which was carried out in the 2023/24 season, will continue to be seen as a step to strengthen the club. Despite the current challenges, the team even achieved the runner -up title in the highest national division last season.

a fresh start in the state class

Nevertheless, the future for Torgelow/Ueckermünde looks new. Instead of in the association league, the games will be played in the national class in the future. This could be both a challenge and an opportunity to reorient yourself and promote the talents in your own club.

How the team will do next season remains to be seen. It will certainly be interesting to observe how the club comes out of this difficult phase. In any case, there is a lot to do to make the Torgelower: to make football tasty in the future.
