New holiday park in Pütnitz: opportunity or danger for Ribnitz?
In an exciting initiative to revitalize the region, the Vorpommern-Rügen district is planning to transform the former military site on the Pütnitz peninsula into an inviting family holiday idyll. On November 3, 2025 at 8 p.m. there will be a talk in the Ribnitz-Damgarten meeting center under the motto “New Center Parcs project in Pütnitz: engine or collapse for the region?” instead of. Experts and interested citizens want to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the project. NDR reports that the city of Ribnitz-Damgarten expects this project to significantly revitalize the region, create jobs and create more added value.
However, not everyone agrees with the idea. Critics draw attention to possible staff shortages, infrastructure overload and potential interference with nature. They fear that the hotel project brings not only opportunities but also challenges that should not be ignored.
