Dodge Revival in Gadebusch: Is there a threat of a big end due to bankruptcy?

A well-known event in Gadebusch is about to end: the legendary Dodge Revival Party, which was supposed to be celebrated on Christmas Day, is in acute danger. The reason for this? The building in which the celebration was to take place is in receivership due to financial difficulties of the operating company. This is reported by the Northern Courier.

In September of the previous year, the Gadebusch office issued an enforcement notice because the company behind the event did not meet its financial obligations. The person responsible for the company, Mathias Schatz, can no longer be reached. Tenants of the Gadebusch Kremlin were informed by a lawyer from Lower Saxony who manages the building. He transferred the rents to an escrow account and indicated an auction by the Kremlin should bankruptcy occur, as the former owner Ulf Bartel reports.

Hope dies last

However, Dodge Revival organizer Michael Lange is optimistic. Despite the difficult situation, he still sees opportunities to establish contact with the insolvency administrator. According to Lange, the city has already met the necessary regulations for the party, which is at least a small ray of hope in the current situation. At the last Dodge Revival Party in 2022, hundreds of revelers streamed into the hall and basement before the 2023 event had to be canceled due to safety concerns.

The upcoming Dodge Revival Party, which is planned for December 25, 2024 from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. (UTC+01:00) in the Kremlin Hall + Disco, would be a special anniversary: the DodgeCity Party in the Kremlin is celebrating 11 years. The target group is primarily the loyal fans from the DodgeCity community who can look forward to a nostalgic DJ line-up from the past. Admission is for ages 18 and up, and the event is intended to once again be a celebration of memories, which would bring joy not only to old hands but also to new visitors.

A look at the bankruptcy situation

The current insolvency situation is not just an issue in Gadebusch. The number of bankruptcies is constantly being monitored in Germany. In 2023, there were a total of approximately 110,200 bankruptcies - a decrease compared to 2013, when there were 129,300 bankruptcies. Corporate insolvencies in particular are highest in North Rhine-Westphalia, which makes the region particularly sensitive. The developments show that insolvencies are always a major social issue that affects many and will not lose its relevance in the next few years, as Statista explains: Statista.

It remains to be seen whether the Dodge Revival Party in the Kremlin can ultimately take place despite the difficulties. There is great hope among the organizers and fans that the difficulties can be overcome. Maybe there is still a way to save this traditional event.
