In Gottesgabe, a small town in the northwest of Mecklenburg, a remarkable planting event took place today in which over 6,500 daffodil bulbs were planted in the ground in just two hours. The initiative was supported by over 100 motivated residents who worked together to ensure that the roadsides and playgrounds in the towns of Rosenhagen, Klein and Groß Welzin and Gottesgabe will shine in bright yellow in the coming year. Mareike Brietzke was among the helpers who actively participated in this colorful endeavor. According to the Nordkurier report, Manuel Grau, an experienced onion planter, gave valuable tips during the campaign and donated an additional 1,500 daffodil bulbs to support the project. The remaining 5,000 onions were procured by the local village association, which raised money for it through various events.
The tradition of planting flowers has a history in Godsend. Crocus bulbs were planted three years ago, but they did not have the expected effect. “The daffodils should now bring the desired splash of color,” emphasized a resident who was there with a lot of enthusiasm.
