Grevesmühlen is celebrating: Thousands at the town festival and new commercial mile!

There was a lot of activity and a good mood in Grevesmühlen when the 29th city festival was celebrated on June 21, 2025. Thousands of visitors lined up along the parade route to enjoy the event. The parade lasted about two hours and brought together 57 clubs, companies and groups who presented themselves enthusiastically. The moderation was taken over by Frank Marquardt and Sven Schiffner, who gave exciting insights from a platform.

The festival visitors made particularly creative use of the concrete blocks that were set up for traffic safety and were ideal as seating and storage areas. However, there were also isolated rescue missions, as Alexander Rehwald from the city administration reported, due to the summer heat, which caused problems for some participants.

A highlight: the craftsmen's and commercial mile

A real new addition this year was the craft and commercial mile, which was well received by visitors. Eight companies from Grevesmühlen and the surrounding area presented their offers and facilitated interesting discussions. Karsten Joost, an electrician, reported on the many questions from visitors and spoke about a planned training fair that is to take place at the regional school. Not only were company presentations offered here, but there were also hands-on and craft activities for the children, which made the festival a true family event.

The presentation area was integrated into the festival area close to the events on Wismarschen Straße, so that the exhibitors were in direct contact with the guests. An absolute win for everyone involved!

Entertainment for young and old

The traditional city run was also held on the day of the festival, which kept the sporty citizens on their toes. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there was a lively flea market on Wismarschen Straße, where bargain hunters got their money's worth. The band “Ostseeklänge” provided musical entertainment and heated up the morning pint at the market.

In the evening, a big party with DJ Steffen Lehmann and the band “Bos Taurus” rounded off the day. The highlight was an impressive fireworks display that lit up the sky over Grevesmühlen shortly before 11 p.m. Anyone who was in town that day could look forward to a varied program and many happy faces.

The town festival in Grevesmühlen remains an integral part of the event calendar and shines year after year with a diverse program, as does the Baltic Sea newspaper reported. The feeling of community and the spirit of the region can undoubtedly be felt at future festivals!
