Marteria inspires Rostock: Free beach concert for the anniversary!
A special kind of surprise appearance took place on August 28, 2025 on the beach in Rostock-Warnemünde. The Rostock-born rapper Marteria, known for his unique combination of rap and emotional lyrics, thrilled the crowd with a free open-air concert in the Strandarena. This spontaneous event was organized to celebrate 15 years since the release of his hit album “Fortunately in the Future”. The announcement on Instagram a day earlier caused a real flood of enthusiasm and generated more than 26,500 likes within a few hours, as nordkurier.de reports.
Around 15,000 fans gathered below the lighthouse, eager to see Rostock's local hero live. Whether old or young, the anticipation for the evening was great. “This is for my hometown!” Marteria announced during the concert. His willingness to give something back to the fans was evident not only in the high-quality performance, but also in the fact that entry was completely free.
Impressions of the concert
The event started at 7:00 p.m. in a festive atmosphere. Many fans brought their own food, while others picked up snacks from the numerous stalls. Marteria provided the necessary sound, not only performing his classics like “Purple Clouds” but also announcing his new album during the concert. The first single from “Fortunately in the Future III” will be released next week. The glowing number three on the facade of the Hotel Neptun made the importance of the evening clear. The concert was a real top-class event - and even the traffic restrictions in Warnemünde couldn't dampen the anticipation.
It was also recommended that visitors avoid traveling by car, as from 3 p.m. there was a ban on parking on both sides of Seestrasse. The S-Bahn ran every half hour until 12:30 a.m., which made getting there easier. The tourism center of the city of Warnemünde took over the organization of the event, with Marteria giving high praise to everyone involved.
A look back at the career
Marteria, whose real name is Marten Laciny, has made an impressive name for himself over the years. From his football career in the U17 national team to becoming a model, his path has always been colorful. In 2012 he even made it to number 1 in the charts with the song “Lila Wolken” (together with Yasha and Miss Platnum). His former passion for football, which led him to F.C. Hansa Rostock is now just a fond memory, while his heart now belongs entirely to music. In 2015 he was absent due to illness, took a creative break and devoted himself to hobbies such as fishing.
An exciting past that continues to speak to Marteria's success as anticipation grows for the new album. The artist released “5th Dimension” in October 2021 and went on the “Vollkontakt Tour” through Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2022. Extraordinary collaborations with notable artists such as Casper, Jan Delay and Peter Fox also contribute to Marteria's popularity, and with a solid fan base, the upcoming album is sure to receive a lot of attention.
For all fans, it remains to be seen what surprises Marteria has in store for the future. But one thing is certain: the Rostock musician has a good knack for inspiring audiences with both his lyrics and his events. A return to the magic of live events and the special connection to one's roots always seem to be in the foreground.
