Traffic jam alarm in Wismar: Current traffic reports for commuters!

Traffic jam alarm in Germany! August 13th, 2025 will also bring with it some traffic problems in Cologne and the surrounding area. As the Ostsee Zeitung reports, real-time information about traffic jams, construction sites, accidents and other delays in northwest Mecklenburg provides valuable information via the OZ traffic jam detector system. The offer is supplemented with data from TomTom, which comes from millions of devices worldwide. Redundant sources from around 80 million mobile devices and several million official road sensors ensure a precise representation of the traffic situation.

The situation is particularly tense in the Wismar-Mitte region. Despite a speed limit of 60 km/h, accidents continue to occur here as a result of turning and right-of-way errors. Such problem areas should not be underestimated in Cologne either; Road users should therefore pay particular attention.

Current traffic situation

The traffic situation in recent years shows a clear trend: traffic jams are becoming more and more frequent. According to Stau.info, there were a total of 723,000 traffic jams in Germany in 2023, an increase of 4% compared to the previous year. Tips for less stress in traffic jams

Traffic jams can quickly lead to stress and aggressiveness. To counteract this, there are some helpful tips: take breaks, listen to music or stretch in the car. It is also particularly important to create an emergency lane to enable emergency vehicles to get through quickly. To do this, if there are two lanes, the left lane should be driven to the left and the right lane should be driven to the right; if there are three or more lanes, similar rules apply.

With the right planning and attention, traffic jams cannot always be avoided, but the waiting time can be made much more bearable by listening to calm music, breathing deeply or canceling stressful appointments.
