Safe thieves in Rostock: Police arrest gang in spectacular break-in!
On November 11, 2025 at 5:28 p.m., a suspected gang of safe thieves was caught by the police in the Rostock and Northwest Mecklenburg districts. How NDR reported, four men between the ages of 38 and 44 were arrested. The arrests took place during searches early Tuesday morning.
The suspects are accused of breaking into several hotels and companies since the summer of 2025 to steal safes. A particularly bold break-in occurred on the night of August 11th at the car dealership in Bützow. There was also a robbery at a gas station in Kühlungsborn on September 13th, where an ATM was brutally torn from the entrance area and broken into.
Brazen ploy by the perpetrators
The gang acted unabashedly and caused considerable damage to property during their break-ins. The incident in Kühlungsborn was particularly eye-catching and attracted the attention of investigators. As in the report by NDR mentioned, the gas station's ATM was badly damaged.
The police officers were able to catch the suspected perpetrators in the act when they broke into the food market in Banzkow. This once again revealed the fearlessness of the crooks, who apparently stopped at nothing.
Justice takes action
The arrests and the successful deployment of the police are a sign that the security situation in the region is being taken seriously. Citizens can breathe a sigh of relief that such criminals will not go unpunished.
