Wismar: Celina breaks with ideals of beauty – rally tonight!
Today is October 29, 2025 and there is exciting news in Wismar that is making big waves on both a personal and social level. Celina Expósito León, a 25-year-old from the region, fundamentally changed her view of beauty ideals after a serious accident. How Baltic Sea newspaper reports, she has written a book that aims to encourage others to accept themselves as they are. Above all, she emphasizes that true beauty does not depend on clothing size. “I have never been thin and I don’t need to be,” she says confidently, advocating a new perspective on body and self-acceptance.
There will also be a rally today from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the cityscape debate in Wismar. This event, organized by the “Wismar for All” alliance, is honored by Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) and is emotional. The debate is an important part of urban development and shows that there are many different opinions when it comes to the design of public space.
Emergency security and cultural society
Another important matter concerns the emergency security at Johannstorf Castle. As also from the Baltic Sea newspaper reported, this is being delayed due to the acute risk of collapse. The castle suffered a devastating fire on March 1, 2025, and work on the emergency roof is expected to be completed by the end of November to save the building.
Another explosive topic is the cultural society in Wismar. There are new allegations against the former head of the Klützer Literaturhaus, Oliver Hintz. An employee makes serious allegations, which further escalates the situation. His fee contract expires at the end of the year, which only adds to the questions in the room.
New newsletter for the Baltic Sea coast
In order to inform citizens about current topics and events, the Ostsee-Zeitung is launching a new newsletter entitled “Second Home – Your Post from the Baltic Sea Coast”. This will be published once a week and is free. A good opportunity to keep your finger on the pulse of events outside of Wismar!
