Satisfaction with network coverage in northwest Mecklenburg is increasing!
In northwest Mecklenburg, the latest survey results show that residents are quite satisfied with the network coverage of mobile phones and broadband connections: The rating is 6.56 on a scale of 1 to 10. This puts this region in second place in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, just behind Schwerin, which achieved a value of 6.74. A survey carried out as part of the “Heimatcheck” asked over 3,000 participants from northwest Mecklenburg and Ludwigslust-Parchim about various areas of life.
However, satisfaction in the Ludwigslust-Parchim region is not quite as rosy. Here the rating for broadband connections is 6.32 - these are noticeably lower values compared to the neighbors in northwest Mecklenburg. The Federal Network Agency confirms that 88% of households in Ludwigslust-Parchim have broadband connections with at least 50 Mbit/s, which is below the national average of 92%. What is particularly noticeable, however, is that only 21% of this speed is available in Brüel.
satisfaction with quality of life
Network coverage was rated 5 out of 15 categories in Northwest Mecklenburg, where it ranks fifth after Cleanliness (7.75), Leisure & Animals (7.25), Quality of Life (7.17) and Family & Children (6.94). For comparison: In Ludwigslust-Parchim, network coverage ranks fourth, but the values in the other categories were also slightly lower, led by cleanliness (7.43). However, general satisfaction with the topics of energy and climate in northwest Mecklenburg was only 5.73, while Ludwigslust-Parchim achieved the worst value among the ten regions surveyed at 5.67.
Overall, the Heimatcheck shows that citizens in northwest Mecklenburg are increasingly critical of the expansion of renewable energies and that a lot still needs to be done on these issues. The need for improvements in local broadband expansion is clearly evident.
Market developments at a glance
Outside the fiscal policy arena, discussion has arisen about the culture of “cemetery guns,” which involve interesting objects from history. These weapons were used in the early 19th century to deter body thieves who stole deceased bodies for medical studies. This morbid story sheds light on the sometimes strange measures taken in the past to preserve the integrity of the dead. The traditional use of so-called cemetery guns illustrates how important the protection of possessions was even during one's lifetime.
Current surveys and market developments clearly show that there are both satisfactions and challenges that need to be overcome in northwest Mecklenburg and beyond.
