An exciting event is just around the corner in Warnemünde: The “Buntes Meer Festival” is celebrating its second edition from July 25th to 27th, 2025. After the successful debut last year, where the premiere attracted around 1,500 visitors, festival initiator David Juhnke is now expecting up to 3,000 guests. The colorful event goes beyond the boundaries of the Kurhausgarten and also extends to the Wal beach bar and the picturesque beach landscape itself Northern Courier reported.
With a clear focus on diversity, inclusion and sustainability, the festival offers a varied program. The spectacle opens in the Wal beach bar with a beach cinema that shows several films from 1 p.m. The main focus is on the main film “The Peanut Butter Falcon”. Everyone gets their money's worth here, whether with live music or the kite and stand-up paddleboard testival, which is free on all three days.
A celebration for the whole family
The “Buntes Meer Festival” is not just intended for adults. Plenty of variety is ensured with numerous workshops and activities, including creative courses such as pottery and beach castle building for children and adults. There are various hands-on activities in the Kurhausgarten, such as yoga and an art mile, which bring everyone together in the spirit of community. A special highlight this year will be the large skate area, where the well-known skateboarder Timbo Vens will demonstrate tricks and offer workshops. The motto is: inclusion! The path to success and outlook for the future
Juhnke, who already founded the first inclusive festival in Rostock, leads the entire organization with a committed team of over ten colleagues and an association that is currently being founded. Local partnerships are relied upon to enrich the festival and strengthen cultural diversity in Warnemünde. The Warnemünde local council has already contributed 2,000 euros to the realization.
The main goal of the festival remains to bring people from different backgrounds together and break down prejudices by breaking down barriers. With the third edition already being planned, Juhnke is optimistic about the future. It remains exciting to see what the coming years will hold for the “Buntes Meer Festival”.
