An exciting event is coming! On October 25, 2025, from 4 p.m., Rostock Zoo will be transformed into a dazzling festival for young and old. The traditional lantern festival brings the whole family together with a colorful program. There is great anticipation and the event promises to be a real eye-catcher.
There is a lot to discover for the little guests. In theAtelier NatureFace painting awaits, where the little ones can be transformed into animals, fairies or mythical creatures. Particularly brave children can familiarize themselves with insects in the “crawling box” in the Old World Monkey House and even touch “crawlers”. Animal lovers among families shouldn't miss this!
Highlights of the lantern festival
A highlight will be the show feeding at the seal enclosure, which will take place at 5:30 p.m. Here visitors can experience first hand how the seals and fur seals are trained. The big lantern parade starts at 6 p.m., which starts at the seal enclosure and leads the participants with colorful lights to the event site in the historic part of the zoo. There will definitely be more glowing lanterns on board that the children can bring with them!
The crowning conclusion is a spectacular fire show at the event site, which begins at around 6:20 p.m. This visual performance will enchant visitors and round off the lantern festival in an atmospheric way.
Practical information
Admission to the festival is only possible from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. via the entrance on Barnstorfer Ring. So that everyone can look forward to the festivities, entry prices are €8.00 for adults and €5.00 for children. Anyone who already has an annual ticket benefits from reduced prices: €6.00 for adults and €4.00 for children. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the zoo ticket offices.
