The investigation into the tragic case of eight-year-old Fabian from Güstrow is ongoing and is increasingly raising questions about the circumstances of his disappearance. How merkur.de reported, Fabian's mother, Dorina L., now commented on the events in an interview. On October 10, 2025, the day of his disappearance, she noticed that her son did not want to go to school as usual. He had left school early the day before because he felt unwell.
In the interview, Dorina emphasized that the reports about an alleged agreement between her and Fabian, in which he deliberately left the house, do not reflect the truth. She explained that at 8:30 a.m. before she left for work, she lovingly told him "love you, see you later" and also provided him with a cell phone to keep him busy while she was away. A clear indication that she had advised him to stay in the house until she returned.
The shocking discovery
After Dorina came home after work and Fabian couldn't be found, she immediately started searching. She turned to his friends and also to the boy's father. When the situation didn't clear up, she informed the police, who registered Fabian's disappearance on the same day.
Events took a turn on October 15th: a walker discovered a child's body in a forest near Klein Upahl, about 20 kilometers from Güstrow. As also reported, DNA analysis confirmed that it was the missing Fabian. Tragically, the autopsy determined that Fabian was the victim of a violent act.
Status of investigation
The Rostock public prosecutor's office has now started an investigation into manslaughter, but so far there has been no arrest. Police are focusing on the boy's surroundings and the location where the body was found. A nearby pond is also currently being examined to find out the exact circumstances of Fabian's death and his route to Klein Upahl.
It remains to be hoped that the authorities will soon find crucial clues to get to the bottom of the terrible crime. At a time when the loss of a child raises many questions, families and the community want clarity and justice more than ever.
