New coach Tiffert starts preparation with Hansa Rostocks U 23

FC Hansa Rostock celebrated the start of the summer preparation for the U 23 on June 23, 2025! 16 field players and two goalkeepers came to the first training session on the training ground in the Volksstadion. The focus was particularly on the new trainer Christian Tiffert, who follows Uwe Speidel, whose contract was not extended. Tiffert, as a former Bundesliga professional and most recently assistant coach at Chemnitzer FC, has a good portion of experience, which he now wants to use in the training of young talents with Hansa Rostock. With 187 Bundesliga and 147 second division games, his experience is one of the strengths of this change of coach, which could possibly bring a breath of fresh air to the team.

Albin Berisha was also among the training participants, who was on the pitch due to a jaw injury with a facial mask. The 26-year-old was last transferred to the U 23 and has a contract until 2027. Board of Directors Michael Meier particularly emphasizes the commitment of the new trainer when it comes to talent management. The pressure on coaches is often high in football, but Tiffert could create the necessary balance between tension and relaxation in order to optimally prepare the team.

test games during the summer break

The U 23 of Hansa Rostock has already planned some test games to prepare for the coming season in the Oberliga NOFV-Nord as best as possible. The following encounters are planned:

  • 4. July: FSV Schorfheide Joachimsthal (7 p.m.)
  • 5. July: TSV 1860 Stralsund (2 p.m.)
  • 12. July: SV Barth (5 p.m.)
  • 19. July: FSV Luckenwalde (2 p.m.)

The past season ended the U 23 in a solid fourth place and was 14 points behind the leaders BFC Preussen. Tiffert will now be challenged to set new impulses and further develop the squad. Marc Bölter, the only external newcomer, will certainly play an important role in the team, while five players from the U 19 are moving up: Jordan Thomas, Nick Gennerich, Luca Stildt, Claas Zamzow and Maximilian Heiden.

Where does the new way lead?

The new Oberliga season starts on the first weekend in August, and the U 23 has no time to lose. Change of coaches are common in football and often necessary to set fresh impulses, such as Gerd Dais, which was released at SV Waldhof Mannheim despite a successful previous season. It is therefore crucial that the new trainer not only has the quality of the squad in view, but also strengthens the motivation and the team structure. The words of the new trainer indicate that he is ready to accept the challenge and set the course for a successful season.

The feeling of anticipation and tension is in the air. Fans and players are excited to see how the team will develop under Christian Tiffert and whether you can continue the positive trend from last season. Hansa Rostock seems to be on a promising course - now it is important to convert the training work into success!
