Rostock in a jazz frenzy: The See More Jazz Festival is starting soon!

This year's “See More Jazz” festival in Rostock promises to be an unforgettable experience for all jazz lovers. From August 15th to 17th, 2025, the Zoological Garden and the Rostock Art Gallery will be transformed into a center for stirring sounds and a relaxed atmosphere. The organizers, Andreas Martens and René Geschke, have put together a varied program that presents both local and international talent.

The opening of the festival will be celebrated on Friday, August 15th by the Christoph Möckel Trio. The Rostock jazz saxophonist is considered a promising young musician and will delight visitors with his trio line-up of bass clarinet/saxophone, electric bass and drums. The innovative use of live electronic effects will provide a fresh sound. Jazz pianist Sebastian Gahler will then perform with his project “Electric Stories”, which will captivate listeners with groove-based music in the style of electro, funk and fusion jazz. The evening will be crowned by the German funk and soul band Radius, who will present their new album “Vly” together with ESC runner-up Leonora.

A colorful program for young and old

On Saturday the musical actors take over the reins with Iiro Rantala and his HEL Trio. The Finnish pianist brings a breath of fresh air with his humorous and fiery playing. The internationally celebrated JBBG SMÅL big band from Graz will round off his performance with their new project “JBBG Smål – GRAN RISERVA”. This diverse formation promises exciting musical variety and will certainly captivate the audience.

The festival concludes on Sunday, August 17th with Austrian pianist Martin Listabarth, who combines jazz with classical and pop in an intimate matinee. His music reflects inspiring impressions from landscapes, cities and personal encounters and invites listeners to dream.
