Complete closure of the L22 in Rostock: eight days of construction work from August 18th!

A significant traffic measure is imminent in Rostock. From Monday, August 18th, the L22 Am Strande will be completely closed for at least eight days. This measure affects the section from Grubenstrasse to Wokrenterstrasse, which extends over around 600 meters. The closure is expected to be lifted again on Tuesday, August 19th at 3 a.m Traffic review reported.

The renewal of the asphalt surface is necessary because the heavily used road is used by around 44,000 vehicles every day. As part of the work, 7,750 square meters of asphalt will be replaced, using around 2,500 tonnes of material. The Rostock municipal utilities are also using this closure to lay new pipelines. In addition, Rostocker Straßenbahn AG is planning to modernize the Am Strande/Warnowstrasse track system after over 38 years of use.

Traffic impacts

However, the asphalt renovation will not be the only construction site that will affect road users in Rostock. Rövershäger Chaussee will also be completely closed for eight days from August 11th. Here the tram tracks on the wooden peninsula are being renovated. The full closure at this point will be in addition to the restrictions on the L22 already mentioned, such as Northern Courier reported.

But that's not all! In addition to these construction sites, there are also restrictions in other parts of the city. The asphalt road on Rostocker Straße will also be renovated from August 11th, which will lead to a complete closure until August 22nd. Vehicles will then no longer have access to the adjacent gardens. There will also be a partial closure on Maßmannstrasse until September 6th while work is being done on the district heating pipeline.
