Something is happening in Schwerin that should put a big smile on the faces of fitness enthusiasts: GymEdge, the city's most modern fitness studio, will soon open. Directly above Kaufland, at Hamburger Allee 140D, construction is in full swing and anticipation is growing! The basic framework is currently in place, the lighting is shining, and the changing rooms and showers have already been installed. On over 1000 square meters and on two floors, the new studio offers a variety of options for getting and staying fit.

Founding offer and opening

The official opening is scheduled for fall 2023 and the countdown is on! On July 11th, anyone interested can take a tour of the construction site from 3 p.m. and see for themselves the concept and the already completed premises. The GymEdge team is led by club leader Pauline Meißner, who not only gets involved in sports but is also self-employed in finance. With a core team of four people, including two dual students with practical experience, there will be a fresh atmosphere here.

If you're quick now, you can benefit from the start-up offer: the start-up fee drops and membership can be canceled on a monthly basis until the viewing. But be careful! After July 11th, the entry fee will increase to 99 euros and the monthly price will also increase.

Fitness market on the rise

Deloitte the market reached a record level in 2024. Sales rose by 7.0 percent to an impressive 5.82 billion euros. The number of members climbed by 3.6 percent to 11.71 million - the first time such a level has been reached since 2019.

Particularly striking: chain companies like GymEdge are in demand. They expanded their investment portfolio by 11.8 percent. The number of members in chain companies also rose sharply. While the total number of fitness facilities remains stable at 9,127, chains like FitX are benefiting from this consolidation and have enjoyed a membership increase of 370,000 over the last year.
