SSC Palmberg Schwerin: Bitter defeat in the duel with Dresden!

In a thrilling duel in the Volleyball Bundesliga, SSC Palmberg Schwerin suffered a narrow defeat against Dresdner SC last weekend. Coach Felix Koslowski's team lost 3-2 in front of a sold-out crowd in the Magon Arena, where a total of 3,000 spectators cheered enthusiastically. This was the second defeat within a month against the Dresden team, after they had previously been beaten 3-1 in the Supercup final. Despite these setbacks, coach Koslowski remains optimistic for the coming weeks.

The first set started promisingly for SSC, which took an 18:14 lead in the first half. But despite the already clear lead, the set was ultimately wasted at 23:25. In the second round there was an equalizer and Schwerin was able to prevail with 25:21. The third set was also a real thriller - initially the SSC was ahead with 13:7, but then fell behind, but fought back and won the set with 26:24.

Tension until the end

But Dresdner SC didn't let themselves be defeated and showed their skills in the fourth set. The hosts won this set with a clear 25:20, which led to the decision in the tiebreak. Dresden then dominated here and clearly won 15:6. Particularly noteworthy was the performance of Marta Levinska, who stood out as the game's best attacker with 26 points. On the Schwerin side, Anne Hölzig and Anna Artyshuk each scored 16 points.

The defeat was a setback for the SSC, which is still in second place in the table with three wins from five games. The team is being followed by Allianz MTV Stuttgart, which has four wins from four games. The change in the team, which was necessary after winning the championship title last season, is noticeable. Koslowski is working intensively on integrating the new arrivals and reshaping the team, which means more match practice for the new talents.

Looking ahead

The SSC's next game in the DVV Cup against TV Planegg-Krailling is scheduled for November 2nd, where they have the chance to prove themselves again and get back on the road to success. The team has an opportunity to put recent mixed performances behind them and regain hope, while Koslowski is optimistic about the prospects for the future.

Overall, it remains to be seen how SSC Palmberg Schwerin will present itself in the coming games. We can only hope that the team will continue the upward trend from the last games and that the spectators will continue to be enthusiastic about exciting volleyball.
