On October 30, 2025, the Schwerin State Museum shone in new splendor after four years of extensive modernization. Around8500 visitorsflocked to the newly renovated exhibition rooms on this first weekend. A special highlight was the opening day, when...4000 peoplevisited the museum. Also the Minister of CultureBettina Martinwas on site and praised the successful redesign and the new exhibitions, which provide a breath of fresh air in the cultural scene.
I was particularly pleased that there will be no entry fee for the next four years. This is not only a great offer for art lovers, but also an invitation to everyone to visit the museum and discover the impressive works. Culture MV reports that the director, Dr. Pirko Kristin Zinnow thanked the guests for their great interest.
