Both teams have already suffered a defeat this season and are now determined to stay close to the top.
The starting position couldn't be more exciting. Dresdner SC recently suffered a clear 3-0 defeat against Allianz MTV Stuttgart, which was decided in just 67 minutes. After this game, coach Alexander Waibl was disappointed with Stuttgart's superiority and the lack of solutions in their own attack. Before that, his team celebrated a victory in the WT Energiesysteme Supercup 2025 against today's opponent Schwerin, which they defeated 3-1.

SSC Palmberg Schwerin, on the other hand, recently won against Skurios Volleys Borken with a clear 3-0 win. Coach Koslowski was very satisfied with the performance of his players, among whom diagonal attacker Anna Artyshuk was named MVP. It seems as if Schwerin are taking their preparations for the duel seriously, even though they lost to Dresden in the last meeting.

The NRW derby between USC Münster and the Ladies in Black Aachen starts at 7:30 p.m., while the Skurios Volleys Borken host the ETV Hamburger Volksbank Volleys in the promoted duel. A third newcomer, the Binder Blaubären TSV Flacht, plays against VC Wiesbaden. Allianz MTV Stuttgart will also meet Schwarz-Weiß Erfurt on Sunday.
