Today the big awards ceremony for the “Entrepreneur of the Year in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania 2025” competition was celebrated in the Schützenhaus Grabow. Dr. Wolfgang Blank, Minister for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labor, honored the outstanding winners of this annual competition, which was held for the 17th time. “Entrepreneurs have responsibility for their employees, partners and customers as well as for the entire region,” emphasized Blank in his speech. More than 75 companies from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania competed for the coveted awards. Prizes were awarded in a total of four categories: entrepreneurial personality, corporate development, securing skilled workers and integration as well as sustainability. In addition, a special prize was awarded to a particularly innovative achievement. Krister Hennige, President of the Neubrandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, gave words of praise and acknowledged the courage, perseverance and innovative strength of the award winners Nordkurier reports.
The award winners in detail
Particularly in the spotlight was Mareen Buchholz from the Baltic Sea Coast care team in Grimmen, who was named Entrepreneur of the Year. She runs an outpatient care service and looks after over 120 customers with a team of 60 employees. Their finalists were Christoph Hatscher from the bakery and pastry shop in Stavenhagen and Robert Kriewitz from the butcher shop in Ueckermünde.
In the corporate development category, the prize went to emano Kunststofftechnik GmbH from Teterow, which is distinguished by its production of hydrogen containers. Their finalists were the butcher shop Pistol Prime BBQ from Roggentin and August Hildebrandt GmbH from Schwerin. Ulrich Timm from the Timm carpentry shop in Kröpelin accepted the award in the category of securing skilled workers and integration. Peter Kuboth from the Eschengrund car dealership and a team from Amas Technology were on the list as finalists.
Nico Langhans from Thermowhite NordOst in Möllenhagen was able to assert himself in the sustainability category. He produces insulation material from processed Styrofoam and successfully competed against his competitors, including Dr. Matthias Boltze from new enerday GmbH. The special prize for the successful transfer of scientific knowledge was awarded to Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Awarded to Nicole Fin from the Greifswald University Medical Center, which has developed innovative procedures for diagnosing kidney diseases.
A significant competition
The competition for the title of “Entrepreneur of the Year” is not just a platform for recognizing outstanding achievements in medium-sized companies. It motivates companies and their employees to constantly develop and pursue innovative ideas. These awards help to consolidate the reputation among the over 500 annual medium-sized competitions. The award ceremony not only represents outstanding individual achievements, but also supports partnerships between institutions such as the East German Savings Bank Association, Chambers of Crafts, Chambers of Industry and Commerce and business associations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
