Complete closure of the B104: Safety first – important diversions!

From July 28, 2025, the B104 between Wickendorf and Rampe will be completely closed. The reason for this measure are structural changes in the curve area, which are intended to improve traffic safety on this route. There is currently a speed limit of 50 km/h, and the upper asphalt layers need to be renewed over a length of around 2.5 km. Originally, partial closures were planned from July 14, 2025, but these will no longer apply thanks to adapted construction technology. These changes are announced by nordkurier.de.

The full closure will last between July 28th and August 9th, 2025. During this time, however, the cycle path remains usable for pedestrians and cyclists. In order to direct motorized traffic, a diversion route is planned: via the L 101 to Raben Steinfeld, further via the B 321, B 106 and then back via the B 104 to Güstrower Straße and vice versa.

Follow-up work and further construction work

After the full closure, disruptions are to be expected for a further two weeks due to follow-up work involving partial closures and traffic light regulations. A full closure between Sternberg and Weitendorf is planned as early as mid-August 2025, where road surface renovations will be carried out. More details about this construction project are still pending.

Long-term measures are also in prospect: work will be carried out on the cycle path along the B104 between Thurow and Zaschendorf until the end of November 2025. Here too, speed limits and partial closures cannot be ruled out. Further construction work on the cycle path from Wickendorf to Rampe is planned for 2026, which will probably require a full closure for six weeks. This full closure is scheduled for the 2026 summer holidays from July 13th to August 22nd.

Current construction sites in the region

It's not just the B104 that's up for grabs. Work is also being carried out on various roads in the region that could restrict traffic. For example, the A11 between Penkun and Pomellen will be subject to roadway repairs for 8.9 km from June 26, 2025. The A14 will also be renewed from the same date between Wismar and Pröbbower See and other sections, which will also be associated with restrictions. Various construction work has also been announced on the A19 and other state and federal roads, as can be seen in the overview on strassen-mv.de.

In addition, a digital construction site tool is offered that makes it easier for citizens to obtain information about current construction sites. The tool, which is provided by sichere-strassen.org, not only allows construction sites to be entered on an interactive map, but also offers the option of conveniently accessing information about closures and diversions. Using the intuitive operation, citizens can plan their routes efficiently and are always informed about the current traffic situation.
