Vorpommern-Greifswald, Deutschland - The exciting final phase of the election as the "fire brigade hero of the year" in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is in full swing. The citizens can vote by July 16 at 11:30 p.m. Around 2700 votes have already been counted, with the two leaders being only 30 votes away. A total of four remarkable volunteers are available:
- Michael Homuth (54) - he has been a military leader of the Hornstorf volunteer fire brigade since 1985.
- Tim Nahrstedt (35) - as chief extinguishing master of the Kühlungsborn volunteer fire brigade, he has been bringing his commitment since his youth. 15 years ago he suffered a serious injury in an operation and is still tirelessly deployed.
- Anne Berner (38) - group leader in the Kröslin volunteer fire brigade. She joined in 2019 to spend more time with her husband, the military leader, and showed her courage when she was used for 21 hours on a major fire.
- Gregor Wedig (66) - the former military leader of the Niberpars volunteer fire brigade is still active and gets involved in operations. His drive is the positive cooperation and valuable feedback after missions.
The importance of volunteering
