Regional league start: tricky tasks for Neubrandenburg handball players!
The regional league starts a new season on September 13th, and the handball players from SV Fortuna Neubrandenburg and Stavenhagener SV have chosen tricky away tasks for their first games. Fortuna will face third division relegated Berliner TSC, while Stavenhagen will face BFC Preussen. There is great anticipation for the start of the league and the teams are preparing intensively to overcome the challenges.
How SVZ reported, the first home games will take place on September 27th. Fortuna will then host Narva Berlin, while Stavenhagen plays against Berliner TSC. Coach Torsten Richter from Stavenhagener SV is positive about the opening program, but makes it clear that there are currently injury concerns in the team.
Important derbies and meetings
A special highlight of the season will be the derby between Fortuna and Stavenhagen, which is scheduled for December 13th. Fans can look forward to exciting and emotional moments when the two teams meet in Reuterstadt. The second leg will then take place on March 28, 2026 in the Neubrandenburg Webasto Arena.
A total of twelve teams play in the Ostsee-Spree Regional League, with Stralsunder HV celebrating the only promotion in this league. The men's league also starts on September 13th with 14 participants. Blau-Weiß 1890 Berlin, Grünheider SV and HC Vorpommern-Greifswald are among those promoted here, while LHC Cottbus was relegated from the 3rd league.
Another point worth mentioning is the MV duel, which is expected to take place on September 14th, while SG Uni Greifswald/Loitz starts the season with an away game at HC Empor Rostock II. The first home game will take place on September 20th in the Loitzer Peenetalhalle against HV Grün-Weiß Werder.
