Survey shows: Northwest Mecklenburg and Ludwigslust-Parchim in the gastronomy slump!

What is happening in the catering and retail sectors in our neighboring regions? The current survey results show exciting things when it comes to quality of life and satisfaction. In a large-scale online survey, the “Heimatcheck”, 16,664 participants gave their opinions, including 15,183 from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as well as Prignitz and Uckermark. Loud Northern Courier The average quality of life in the Northeast is 5.88 points on a scale of 1 to 10.

What particularly stands out is the cleanliness rating, which was rated positively by survey participants at 7.42. But there is also a lot of room for improvement when it comes to gastronomy: with a rating of only 4.59, it is in last place. Retail does not fare any better with a satisfaction rating of 5.23, and that is anything but good news for the region.

Comparison of neighboring districts

A look at the individual regions shows that Northwest Mecklenburg ranks fourth in the Northeast with an overall satisfaction score of 6.06 points. Ludwigslust-Parchim, on the other hand, has to settle for 8th place and 5.81 points. In comparison, the catering industry in Northwest Mecklenburg and Ludwigslust-Parchim performs extremely poorly, with ratings of 4.35 and 4.27, which puts both at the bottom of the table.

The survey also reveals what citizens want from their restaurants: more cafés, fewer snack bars and friendlier staff - there is definitely great potential for improvement here.

High level of satisfaction in Diepholz

Particularly noteworthy is the cleanliness, which received the best grade with 8.04 points. Sports and clubs are also rated highly with 7.90 points. This shows how important community and commitment are, which Mayor Matthias Kreye von Wagenfeld also expresses with pride.

Strengthened by such positive results, those responsible in the region see themselves in a good position, even if there is still a lot of catching up to do in the areas of transport, healthcare and digitalization. One aspect that was addressed in the survey is the real estate market, which also falls into the “needs improvement” category with around 6 points.

In summary, it can be seen that satisfaction in the rural regions of northwest Mecklenburg and Ludwigslust-Parchim depends heavily on a lively gastronomy scene and high-quality retail, while Diepholz shines with a promising result and can set a good example for other regions. It will be interesting to see what steps will now be taken to shape the future positively for everyone involved.
