Western Pomerania shines: Top values for safety and cleanliness 2025!

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, safety and cleanliness are very important. The recently published Home Check 2025 shows that the majority of people in the region are extremely satisfied with the quality of life. Over 16,600 participants, which is real citizen participation, gave their assessment and the results paint a positive picture. Northern Courier reports that the region performs particularly well in the categories of safety and cleanliness.

The Vorpommern-Greifswald district, for example, achieved 7.63 out of 10 points in the cleanliness category, which places it among the best three districts in the region. A comparison with other districts, such as Northwest Mecklenburg and Uckermark, which are rated even better in terms of cleanliness, shows that people honor their living environment. The survey participants expressly praise the properly run cities and communities and their sense of security. Ahlbeck on Usedom in particular stands out: it scores an excellent 8.45 points for cleanliness!

The feeling of security

This home check also leaves no doubt about the general satisfaction with regard to security. Rural regions experience a particularly high appreciation for safety and cleanliness. Nevertheless, there is still room for improvement in cities. The participants would like to see an increased presence of law enforcement in order to increase the feeling of security in urban areas. The survey clearly highlights concerns about a lack of infrastructure and shopping opportunities in rural parts of the county, which are important to many residents.

These challenges must be addressed in order to further improve the quality of life. The strengths of the region, such as the beautiful nature, beaches and forests, should be optimally developed as advantages.
