Ceremonial handover: high school graduates shine in Vorpommern-Rügen!

Last Friday the time had come: The Abitur year of the Regional Vocational Education Center in Vorpommern-Rügen was allowed to accept its certificates. The ceremony for 41 graduates of the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences took place in the theater of the Hanseatic city in a solemn framework, while 25 young adults of the Velgast specialist high school were presented with the certificates in the auditorium of the Velgaster primary school. Christin Wolski from Stralsund achieved an impressive 1.3 in the field of social pedagogy, while Emma Fenske and Antonia Kurp from Velgast were able to look forward to a 1.4 in the business department. The latter two already have plans: Antonia wants to devote herself to riding while Emma has considered a psychology studies in Greifswald.

The allocation of certificates in Velgast was headed by department head Kathrin Nowotny and the deputy headmistress Katja Sagert. The latter kept an emotional speech in which she praised the transition from young people to young adults. In their words of thanks, the high school graduates reminded of many formative experiences of school and thanked the staff for the great support during their training.

The Stralsund band "Wolperdinger Streette team" provided the musical entertainment, which contributed to the festive atmosphere with their appearance. In addition, the celebration for the Velgaster graduates took place in the "Zu den Linden" restaurant in Trinwillershagen, where teachers, parents and students came together to celebrate this special moment.

It is particularly gratifying that from 49 pupils of the specialist high school in Velgast 40 approved for the Abitur examination gained general university entrance qualification, while 9 students received general technical college entrance qualification. The total average of all high school students at the Velgaster location was a respectable 2.3. There were some bright spots within the high school graduates: Sophia Knull from Tribsees and Ivo Kavisanczki from Starkow mastered the exams with top grade 1.0, followed by Max Koschack (1.2) and Konrad Brütigam (1.3).

Such success figures are examined for the good training at the specialist high school and reflect the successes that are recorded annually in comprehensive school statistics. There not only the number of passes passed, but also the average notes are recognized.

The ceremonial allocation of the high school graduates from Stralsund and Velgast is not only an award for the graduates, but also a reason to celebrate for everyone who supported them on their way. A new phase of life now begins for these young adults, and the best wishes accompany them in their future ways.
