Mareen Buchholz from Grimmen: Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 honored!
Mareen Buchholz from Grimmen was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 and is thus sending a strong signal for entrepreneurial commitment in the region. She founded her company, the Baltic Sea Coast Care Team, in 2011 and has since earned a permanent place in the care industry. Today their companies employ around 60 people who work every day to improve the care situation in the region. This award shows how important committed entrepreneurs are for the development of rural areas, as NDR reports.
The “Entrepreneur of the Year” award has been awarded since 2008 and honors not only entrepreneurial skills, but also innovative spirit and social responsibility. Mareen Buchholz received the honor in the “Entrepreneurial Personality” category. She was also able to look back on another award: In 2024, she was named “Woman of the Year” by the Vorpommern-Rügen district. These successes show that she has a good hand when it comes to running her companies.
Focus on care
What is particularly noteworthy is that Buchholz launched the first round table on the topic of care in Grimmen in February 2025. This exchange takes an in-depth look at the care situation in rural areas and highlights their commitment to the community. Her initiative was appreciated by many supporters and shows that she is actively addressing the challenges of the industry.
The award ceremony took place as part of a festive gala in the Schützenhaus Grabow. Economics Minister Dr. Wolfgang Blank presented the honors and emphasized the responsibility of entrepreneurs towards their employees and the region. Over 75 companies applied for the coveted award this year. According to Entrepreneur Award MV there are different categories, including for corporate development and sustainability. The network of partners, such as the East German Savings Banks Association and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, provide support here and emphasize the social significance of the competition.
A role model for many
Buchholz is not alone in her industry, as many committed companies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania show that entrepreneurial activity goes far beyond economic success. Krister Hennige, President of the IHK Neubrandenburg, emphasized in his speech that the potential of entrepreneurial activity contributes significantly to added value for society. Government MV makes it clear that participation in the competition is open to all companies based in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which contributes to an active exchange and to the promotion of the location.
Mareen Buchholz shows that with commitment and a clear vision for the future you can achieve a lot not only in business, but also in the community. Your success is an incentive for many other entrepreneurs to follow their own path with courage and creativity.
