Although the number of overnight stays in the north is already comparable to the pre-corona level, the mood remains tense. This can also be seen in the expectations for the business situation of the coming season. 24 percent of the respondents expect a deterioration, while only 14 percent expect improvement.

Topics such as the flexibility of working hours and a reform of corporate taxation are at the top of the wish list of the companies. The future prospects have improved slightly, but optimism is heavily clouded by geopolitical crises and wars that negatively affect international travel.

Overall, the industry is faced with windy times, and the economic policy framework remains very important. It remains to be seen how the situation develops and whether the local tourism industry has the necessary hand to successfully adapt.
