Start your Christmas fairy tale! Theaters in MV enchant the little ones

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, November begins the season of Christmas fairy tales, which create a magical atmosphere in the state's theaters. The stage becomes a place for fantastic stories that delight both children and adults. How NDR reports, the Volkstheater Rostock is introducing the contemplative time this year with “The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs” based on the Brothers Grimm. The premiere took place on November 8th and the play will be performed until December 26th.

The Vorpommersche Landesbühne also celebrated a premiere with “The Emperor's New Clothes”, a classic by Hans Christian Andersen - this took place on November 9th. Another highlight of the current season are the family plays that will be staged between Parchim and Stralsund. “King Drosselbart” will be performed in Parchim on November 9th, followed by Michael Ende’s “Der satanarchäolügenialkohöllische Wunschpunsch”, which premieres on November 29th and can be seen until December 26th.

Diverse offers for little visitors

The range of Christmas performances is wide-ranging. In Neustrelitz, viewers can expect “The Golden Key” from December 5th, while in Greifswald “The Wizard of Oz” is on the program from November 22nd to December 5th and again from December 23rd to 26th. Neubrandenburgers can also look forward to “The Enchanted Brothers,” which runs from November 21st to December 25th. The wonderful story about “The Wizard of Oz” will also take place in Stralsund from December 10th to 20th.

The response to the family pieces is enormous. Many performances are already fully booked, which underlines the high demand. This trend is evident not only in theaters, but also in small, local performances. After all, Christmas is a time when people like to get together and tell stories, whatever Plays online has observed. Short pieces for children, young people and families are popular here, which are ideal for the Christmas season and can also be performed in schools and kindergartens.

Cultural awards and support

There is also positive news on the cultural side. A cultural and educational institution from Rostock can look forward to a funding prize of 10,000 euros, which was awarded as part of the funding of creative projects. A special workshop program for children combines theater crafts with robotics and enables young participants to learn technical skills in a playful way.

However, amidst these festive preparations, there is also political news. The independent Silvio Witt was elected to the state parliament, but is suspected of violating traffic rules due to speeding. Maybe it's time to take a step back in politics too.

Another sign of progress in the region is the construction of a third coast guard ship in the Wolgaster Peene shipyard, which is planned to be deployed off the German coast. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania presents itself not only as a cultural hotspot in the upcoming Christmas season, but also as a place for economic developments and political news.
