Munich in turmoil: Knife attack violates passers -by in Pasing!

in the Pasing district of Munich, there was a serious incident in which two passers -by was injured. A 40-year-old woman attacked a 64-year-old with a knife, while a 62-year-old was beaten up with a stick. The attacks occurred as part of an argument that the police alerted around 3 p.m. Residents and passers -by provided first aid to the injured and took them to a hospital where their injuries were treated. However, there is no danger to life.

The 62-year-old also injured herself when she tried to flee from her attacker. The suspect was arrested in her nearby apartment and then brought to a psychiatric clinic. The police investigation is due to dangerous bodily harm, with the possible xenophobic motivation of the crime checked. During the interrogation, the woman was hostile to Islam, which indicates a political dimension of the attack.

Investigations and circumstances

The police used more than ten patrol cars and was able to arrest the alleged attacker without resistance four minutes after the alarm. The feeling of security among the population is strongly influenced by such violent acts, even if violent crimes only make up a small part of the overall crimes recorded in Germany. According to Statista, such acts are not used for less than 4% of the crimes recorded by the police. Nevertheless, the topic of violent crime remains in the focus of society.

In 2024, around 217,000 violent crimes were registered in Germany, which is the highest number since 2007. This increase is partly attributed to economic uncertainties and social stress, while the number of annual victims of violence is around 260,000.

The police managed to educate violence in a good three quarters of the cases, and the BKA also reports on an increase in young violent offenders. This shows that violent crime in Germany, paired with persistent psychological stress, causes growing awareness of problem in society. A survey from May 2024 showed that 94% of German violence against people from politics, police and emergency services regarded as a major problem.

The investigators are now looking for other witnesses who have information about the incident in Gleichmannstrasse between 2.30 and 3:15 p.m. Information can be transmitted to the police via an online portal. The worrying developments in violent crime require increased attention and fast reactions from the law enforcement authorities.
