New recycling center in Achim: Used furniture for the region!

In the city of Achim, a new recycling center will be created that is a significant step in waste management and for the local economy. Following the model of the successful furniture storage "Used Furniture and more" in Verden, the city is planning to found a second branch. The Weser-Kurier Recycling center.

The existing camp in Verden, which has been used successfully for almost two decades, faces a constant demand for used furniture and other goods. The range includes a variety of household items, including furniture, electrical appliances, books and decoration items. According to AlV Verden , all articles are used, but are checked and marked before the sale.

The new concept in Achim

The new recycling center in Achim is being built on the former Flarak site and is intended to focus on the preparation, cleaning, repair and recycling of donated items. Around 90 employees of the existing facility in Verden have the opportunity to incorporate their knowledge and expertise into the new branch. In Achim there are initially 30 beneficiaries according to the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act that are to be employed there.

The range in the new facility will concentrate in particular on recyclable building materials and materials for hobby craftsmen. The center thus makes a significant contribution to the circular economy, since the district of Verden is obliged to collect bulky waste in such a way that reuse and recycling are promoted.

construction and infrastructure

For the recycling center, modern office and social rooms as well as a spacious loading ramp and covered storage points are set up. The estimated cost of land acquisition amounts to around 1.3 million euros, while the construction costs will be between 1.5 and 2 million euros. The funds for land acquisition are already planned in the district budget and the board of directors of the ALV will agree to the project on July 1st.

The development of the site should be completed by 2026, with a possible commissioning in mid -2027. The plans are in line with the efforts to promote sustainable waste management and sensitize the population to correctly sort waste. As riga is crucial to recycle and minimize the waste efficiently.

The establishment of the new recycling center in Achim will not only strengthen the local economy, but also make a contribution to sustainable waste management. The visit to the camp in Verden shows that the demand for high -quality used furniture and materials is constantly present and this concept will also be successfully implementable in Achim.
