Customs stops luxury limousine: 11,000 euros in imports due!
A Romanian van was stopped on the A8 near Bergen on Saturday evening when customs officers discovered a luxurious sedan on a trailer. The control revealed that the driver was traveling to Romania with this unadorned luxury body from Switzerland. But it came to a stick: For the import of the sedan, an impressive 10,815 euros were attached to import taxes - and the driver could not submit any customs registration!
Embedded in customs regulations, these fees must be paid when entering Switzerland. Marion Dirscherl, press spokeswoman for the main customs office Rosenheim, said: "Since the driver was unable to pay the taxes immediately, our customs officers first secured the limousine." In addition, criminal proceedings for tax evasion were initiated against the driver. An expensive fun that catches the eye.
