In the first day of the competition, he showed the best performance of his career with 4257 points, almost 100 points above his previous level. However, he got stuck in the pole vault at 4.80 meters. As a compensation, he was able to win the javelin throw at 72.13 meters and triumphed in the final 1500-meter run with a time of 4: 16.41 minutes. strong competition and anniversary meeting

The decathlon, a prestigious discipline of athletics, comprises a total of ten individual competitions and is held for over two days. The disciplines are divided into running, throwing and jumping competitions, whereby the points are converted in every area depending on the world record performance. At international championships, the decathlon is traditionally only held by male athletes, while women compete in the heptathlon, which is the main difference between the categories. The decathlon is considered the royal discipline of athletics and the meeting in Götzis is a recognized highlight of the season.

The young talents, such as Sander Skotheim and Kyle Garland, were particularly striking, who compete with the established athletes such as the Olympic champion Damian Warner and the world champion Pierce Legape, who exit after seven disciplines. Warner ultimately took sixth place with 8527 points. In this dynamic atmosphere, the German Neugebauer could also benefit from the motivating mood.
