Germersheim has established itself as a pioneer in the fitness area for over 50 years and proudly presents a new Calisthenics facility that was inaugurated on the Rheinvorland near the railway bridge and a playground. This modern sports facility is intended to offer citizens the opportunity to improve their fitness through exercises with their own body weight. The idea for this facility comes from the head of building and first deputy Sascha Hofmann, who saw a similar facility seven years ago and Mayor Marcus Schaile, a former athlete, convinced of the idea. The city of Germersheim ensured the financing of the system, supported by grants from the state and the Sparkasse.

The concept of calisthenic training, which originally emerged from the USA in New York, represents a combination of strength and body control that is suitable for all age groups.
