Children in mind: Salzgitter police are fighting for traffic safety!
The Salzgitter police took part in a nationwide traffic safety day on the topic of “children in the eye”. This initiative, which has existed since 2018, focuses on the safety of children in road traffic. During a campaign in front of the primary school at the Gutspark, police officers and students in the fourth classes carried out a speed measurement in a 30 km/h zone. Out of 40 reviewed vehicles, only 19 adhered to the speed limit, which earned 21 drivers an oral warning.
As part of the "Sweet or Saures" campaign, the children rewarded drivers who followed the guidelines with gummy bears. Saures shower powder, on the other hand, was too fast. The students had prepared intensively for the traffic projects and showed great interest in traffic safety. The headmistress of the primary school, Sarah Kahlmann, praised the cooperation with the police and emphasized the importance of such projects for traffic education.
