World bike day in Pirmasens: traffic safety and coding in focus!
On Tuesday, June 3, the city of Pirmasens celebrates World Bike Day with a special event organized by the police in cooperation with the ADFC Südwestpfalz. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., an information stand will be set up on the parade ground to inform the population about traffic safety and theft protection for bicycles, e-bikes and e-scooters. Experts from the Central Prevention Department are ready to answer questions and give valuable tips.
A highlight of the event is a traffic quiz in which the visitors can test their knowledge and have the opportunity to win small profits with a wheel of fortune. In addition, the ADFC offers a technical security check for bicycles that ensure that the two -wheelers are safe.
coding as an effective theft protection
In order to increase the safety of the bicycles, the coding of the two -wheelers is also offered. However, visitors should not forget about the following documents: a printed and completed coding order in double copy, an ID document and a copy of the purchase receipt. The coding order is online at here
The coding is a proven process that acts as an effective theft protection. The police can easily assign bicycles found to their lawful owners. Coded bicycles are more difficult to sell, which detered potential thieves. The so-called owner identification number (one-code) is engraved on the bicycle frame, stamped or glued on. This code contains, among other things, information about the owner and the origin of the bicycle.
safety in road traffic
In addition, the visibility of cyclists in road traffic is of the utmost importance. The road traffic registration regulations stipulate a certain basic equipment that should have a roadworthy bike. These include a bright -tinting bell, two functional brakes and adequate lighting, which must be used at dusk and darkness.
- light -tinting bell
- Two independent brakes
- Two non -slip pedals with yellow backlears
- white front headlight and front reflector
- red rear light and red reflector
- optionally reflector strips or spoke clips
It is also recommended to wear bright or reflective clothing in order to increase visibility and that every cyclist wears a well-fitting helmet, ideally with reflectors and LED rear light. These security measures are indispensable to avoid accidents and to increase the safety in road traffic as a whole.
With these measures for World Bicycle Day, the police, in cooperation with the ADFC Südwestpfalz, organize an excellent opportunity to not only ensure the safety of your own bike, but also to raise awareness of the responsible handling of road traffic. Visit the event and bring your bike to the coding! You can find more about this in the detailed information from Adfc and adac .Details | |
