Robert de Haan is crowned champion in the Porsche Carrera Cup 2025!

October 5, 2025 will go down in the history books of motorsport because it is the day on which Robert de Haan won the championship title in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany. The 19-year-old Dutchman, who drives for Proton Huber Competition, crowned his season with an impressive sixth victory in the last race at the Hockenheimring. With this triumph he secured the overall ranking and overtook Alessandro Ghiretti, who said goodbye to the season as runner-up.

The conditions on the track were anything but easy. Slightly wet asphalt put additional pressure on the title contenders. Ghiretti, who started from pole position, raced straight into the first corner, but a mistake forced him to hand second place back to de Haan. The course of the race was characterized by strategic maneuvers as the leaders - Ghiretti and pole sitter Flynt Schuring - tried in vain to overtake de Haan on the last lap. Ultimately, this resulted in a clear victory for the young Dutchman.

Race course and placings

The race began with Schuring in the lead, initially gaining a reassuring lead of almost five seconds. However, it was de Haan who made the right decision at the crucial moment and began his race to catch up. Things got really busy in the final phase: Schuring spun and Ghiretti lost a lot of momentum. De Haan finally crossed the finish line as the brilliant winner ahead of Ghiretti. Ariel Levi, Alexander Tauscher and Keagan Masters followed in second place.

  • Endresultat:
  • 1. Robert de Haan (Proton Huber Competition)
  • 2. Alessandro Ghiretti (Schumacher CLRT)
  • 3. Ariel Levi (Team GP Elite)

Awards and championships

The outcome of the ProAm category was particularly exciting, in which Ahmad Alshehab won, followed by Michael Essmann. Michael Schrey had already secured the ProAm title on Saturday. In the rookie category, Sacha Norden was able to claim the rookie championship title with his ninth class win of the season. Schumacher CLRT also prevailed in the team classification and secured the championship title, followed by Proton Huber Competition and GP Elite.

The award ceremony was held with great sympathy, including from Thomas Illner, COO of Porsche Germany. A celebration that honored the achievements of all participants and emphasized respectful competition.

Looking into the future

The coming season promises a lot of excitement. The Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup will start in 2026 with 16 races over eight weekends and will once again take participants to challenging routes in Europe. Stations planned include Imola, Italy and the Red Bull Ring in Austria, where the new Porsche 911 Cup vehicles will celebrate their premiere.

So it remains exciting for fans and drivers and the anticipation for the next season is increasing. As current events show, motorsport in Cologne and beyond has lost none of its fascination. Porsche Newsroom reports that de Haan's championship is just one of many exciting moments this season.
