440,000 euros for Halle: Digital projects take off!
Digital transformation is no longer an empty word; it is now being tackled vigorously in Halle (Saale). On July 16, 2025, Dr. Lydia Hüskens, the Minister for Infrastructure and Digital, received grant notices amounting to around 444,000 euros. These funds will flow to the city of Halle and three local companies and are part of the “Saxony-Anhalt Digital 2030” strategy, which was only launched in September 2023. Mayor Egbert Geier warmly welcomed the minister to the town hall and celebrated the many opportunities created by this funding.
A total of four exciting projects will be supported by the new funds. Among other things, the “HAL-City: Data-supported inner city management” project will receive a grant of 120,000 euros. The idea behind this project is to develop a central, data-driven control platform that will be built from November 2025 to the end of October 2026. This platform will make it possible to monitor vacancies, business occupancy and industry diversity in the city center. Not only the city administration is involved, but also businesses, the real estate industry, citizens and political committees.
Innovations and new workspaces
Another winner of the funding is Flying Circus Internet Operations GmbH, which will also receive 120,000 euros to set up a local, data protection-compliant AI laboratory. This not only takes an important step towards innovative technologies, but also creates a place that supports startups and projects in the use of artificial intelligence. Completion is scheduled for June 2026.
A lot is also happening in the transport sector. STRADIS Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH received 103,950 euros for the SIGNAL-AI project. A cloud-native AI platform is being developed here that will automatically record and classify traffic and signal signs - a project that should be completed by the end of the year.
Endlos Industries KG will build a coworking space for everyone who likes to work in creative and collaborative environments. Its setup costs 99,100 euros and should be fully operational by June 2026. There will be ten fully equipped workstations on an area of around 100 m², offering great opportunities for creative minds.
Equipped for the digital future
The projects mentioned are in the context of the comprehensive state strategy “Saxony-Anhalt Digital 2030”, which pursues over 150 goals for the digital transformation of society, the economy and administration. This strategy aims to put people at the center of digitalization and offer society tangible added value. The overarching cooperation between different departments is very important here. Among other things, annual public reports on the progress of implementation are planned, which increases transparency and involves citizens in the process.
In addition, the funding compass is a useful source of information that provides an overview of various funding programs. At this point, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly addressed that need support with their digital (re-)orientation. There you will also find central contacts for the respective funding opportunities, which makes access easier.
With these supportive measures, Halle (Saale) is now well equipped to continue gaining momentum in the digital world. The scene is ready, and it remains exciting to see what innovative solutions and business models will emerge from this support. It is clear: digitalization is also taking a big step forward in Halle.
