On June 12th, an accident occurred in Köthen that got the police excited. A 46-year-old cyclist was riding on the sidewalk of Neustädter Platz in the direction of Friedrichstrasse at 4:30 p.m. when she was hit by a black car of unknown type. Fortunately, there was no damage to her bike.
The driver of the car, who wore glasses, got out briefly after the accident, asked how the cyclist was doing and then disappeared in the direction of Friedrichstrasse without giving his personal details. Another passenger was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle. The police in Köthen are looking for witnesses who have information about this incident. New accident statistics are relatively worrying
Another example of the worries on our roads occurred on December 9, 2024, when an accident in Köthen again resulted in several injuries. Fortunately, both drivers and the two-year-old child only suffered minor injuries. The property damage amounted to around 30,000 euros and both vehicles had to be towed away.
