The wait is over! On Monday, June 23, 2025, the new outdoor pool in Delitzscher Elberitzbad opened its doors to the first swimmers. The opening at 1 p.m. was viewed positively by the city's spokeswoman - there is great joy about the new seaside resort in the region. The outdoor pool gradually filled with enthusiastic visitors from all age groups who were looking forward to relaxing hours by the water.
The water temperature on opening day was a pleasant 24°C, perfect conditions for a relaxing day outdoors. The outdoor pool offers a variety of attractions: a 25 meter long swimming pool with diving boards for the brave, a lovingly designed children's area with a water fountain and wave slide as well as a beach volleyball court and a new children's playground. Both big and small water lovers will get their money's worth here.
A project with history
The outdoor pool on Elberitzstrasse looks back on an impressive history of 120 years. The decision to build a new outdoor swimming pool was made in 2020, when the old swimming complex was classified as being in great need of renovation. Construction work on the new Delitzscher Elberitzbad began in 2023 and has now been completed. With a total cost of 24 million euros, it is the largest construction project in the history of the city of Delitzsch.
For everyone who has not yet visited the outdoor pool, a summer festival is planned to officially open the entire Elberitzbad at the end of July 2025. The exact date is yet to be announced and the anticipation is already palpable. Elberitzbad Delitzsch also informs that the swimming pool will be open on the Pentecost weekend from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and offers numerous special opening times and events throughout the year.
