Traffic chaos in Köthen: Several accidents on July 3rd!
Today, July 3, 2025, there were several traffic accidents in the region around Köthen that caused quite a stir. There were two collisions around midday, both of which caused damage amounting to several thousand euros.
The first accident occurred at 12 p.m. at the junction of Elsdorfer Weg and Gütersee Weg. A 36-year-old woman who was driving her VW collided with a 77-year-old man who was driving a Renault. Serious accident on the B 183 a
At the same time, also at 12 p.m., another incident occurred on the B 183 a, near Sandersdorf-Brehna. A 52-year-old woman in a Skoda and a 21-year-old woman in a Seat were involved. Both vehicles were so badly damaged in the collision that they were no longer drivable. The total damage is estimated at around 5,000 euros.
Just an hour and a half earlier, at 10:30 a.m., there was a third traffic accident on Fritz-Brandt-Straße in Zerbst. A 40-year-old man was driving his Skoda and collided with a van. The damage to the van is estimated at 4,000 euros and to the Skoda at around 2,000 euros.
Crime situation and animal welfare violations
But it wasn't just along the way that there were difficulties. On the night of July 2nd to 3rd there was a theft in a car dealership on Halleschen Strasse in Bitterfeld-Wolfen. Unknown perpetrators stole wheels from a Peugeot and damaged the vehicle, causing damage of around 4,700 euros.
On the same day, a violation of the Animal Welfare Act was reported in Köthen. A dog was left in the car in a Fiat when the temperatures were high. The fire department had to intervene to free the animal and provide it with water. The dog owner did not return until around 1.45 p.m. and a fine procedure was initiated.
