On the same day, a violation of the Animal Welfare Act was reported in Köthen. A dog was left in a Fiat at high temperatures in the car. The fire brigade had to intervene to free the animal and supply them with water. The dog owner only returned around 1:45 p.m. and a fine procedure was initiated.

The general traffic situation in the EU

Europarl.eu lost 22,800 people in 2019. Fortunately, the number of traffic fats was reduced by 36 percent between 2010 and 2020. Nevertheless, the decline has become slower in recent years, such as the latest data of the European Road Safety Observatory, which show from a slight decline in traffic dead in 3% in 2024 report.

In order to further improve traffic safety, it is crucial to understand the reasons for accidents and to implement effective measures. Everyone involved is required to make the streets safer.
