ADAC Cycling Tour 2025: Magdeburg invites you to a cycling adventure!

On August 24, 2025, Magdeburg will once again become the center for cycling enthusiasts when the “ADAC Cycling Tour” takes place in the city. This event, which is part of the Lidl Deutschland Tour 2025, is aimed at ambitious hobby drivers and beginners. There are two route options to choose from that appeal to both experienced cyclists and newcomers: the “large Börde Loop” with 118.7 kilometers and slightly undulating sections, and the “small Börde Loop” with 48.6 kilometers, which is flatter.

The Cycling Magazine reports that the long route has about 700 meters of elevation gain, while the smaller loop has about 250 meters of elevation gain. Both routes are characterized by the typical landscape of the region, although high mountains are not to be expected. Participants can expect varied terrain: the first third of the route is flat, while afterwards there are easier climbs and descents.

The starting point for the bike tour will once again be the city center of Magdeburg, where cyclists will encounter the sociable atmosphere of the planned cycling festival. During the event there will be a wide supporting program with various activities that will be attractive not only for professionals, but also for families and onlookers. Participants have the opportunity to register for the “Corporate Teams” category, which is certainly an exciting challenge for some companies.

A very special highlight for participants is the free ADAC Cycling Tour jersey from Santini, which is available upon registration. The event takes place on the well-known route over the A14 and takes enthusiastic cyclists through charming villages such as Hohendodeleben and Niederdodeleben. After the first 30 kilometers on federal highway 246a, cyclists are increasingly directed into the mountains until they finally enter the second half of the route, which offers both pleasant climbs and descents.

But the “ADAC Cycling Tour” is not the only event that attracts cycling fans to Magdeburg. The “Around the Cathedral” cycling race will take place on May 31, 2025 and is aimed specifically at cycling enthusiasts of all ages. Exciting races are offered here for both beginners and young talents in the U11, U13 and U15 classes.
