Trainees from the Börde region: Digitalization initiates exciting projects!
A successful end came on September 24, 2025 with the final event of the “Digiscouts – Trainees as Digitization Scouts” project in the Börde district. Five companies presented their innovative ideas, which were developed over a period of six months by a total of 20 trainees from different industries. Six companies and public administrations took part in this important project, which was implemented by the RKW Competence Center on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK). The main goal of the project was to identify digitalization potential in companies and to develop practical solutions.
The multitude of ideas shows the commitment of the young people who acted as drivers of digitalization in this initiative. Like the RKW competence center reported, the interactive projects not only expanded the trainees' technical knowledge, but also strengthened their social skills. The young talents thus actively contributed to the digital future viability of the region.
Innovative projects in the region
The successfully implemented projects were presented in Haldensleben. Highlights include:
- Ein digitales Tool zur automatischen Preisermittlung für Haustürfüllungen durch die Brömse GmbH & Co. KG.
- Eine digitale Buchungsplattform für Raumvergaben der Gemeinde Barleben.
- Die Digitalisierung der Steueraktenverwaltung in der Gemeinde Sülzetal.
- Ein digitales Materialbestellsystem für die Stadt Haldensleben.
- Nutzung von Social Media zur Azubi-Gewinnung durch die Salutas Pharma GmbH.
- Ausbau der Social-Media-Präsenz bei der Hövelmann Logistik GmbH & Co. KG.
These projects show how creative and imaginative the trainees are. They developed their ideas independently and implemented them, supported by experienced coaches from the RKW. Special recognition goes to the companies, municipalities and project partners involved who actively supported the initiative. The digital learning platform, which was provided to complement the project, was also very well received.
A look into the future
The “Digiscouts” project joins the list of 83 regions in Germany where similar initiatives have been carried out. Over 720 companies and more than 2,300 trainees have already benefited from this exciting digitalization opportunity. One aspect that is particularly important: Today, many medium-sized companies are struggling with securing skilled workers. These challenges are increasingly being used to make dual training more attractive and to promote young people's interest in digital technologies. The RKW reports that Generation Z in particular, although often described as not very committed, is definitely open to new technologies.
In conclusion, it can be said that the “Digiscouts” project not only supports companies, but also significantly promotes the skills of the trainees. The willingness to use digital potential will be an important factor for the economic success of companies in the future. A taste of future-oriented training, underpinned by a solid didactic foundation and a clear vision for digital transformation. The digital change is underway and the trainees in the Börde region are ready to actively shape it - a real benefit for everyone involved!
